Wearable Art Exhibition

Caloundra Arts Centre Association is holding a “Wearable Art” Exhibition 01/09/2017 – 03/09/2017 consisting of  three bespoke exhibitions demonstrating how lost arts and crafts including lacemaking, embroidery, spinning and weaving can be revived and reinvigorated in a contemporary context.

This is part of Sunshine Coast Council’s Horizon Festival of Arts and Culture   https://www.horizonfestival.com.au

All groups are participating and with over 5oo members, an amazing exhibition will be seen. Wearable Art may include crocheted items, painted clothes and a variety of unexpected and eclectic displays.  Each will be a unique work created by a group or individual.  This would therefore fit practically everything we do from knitting hand-spun to creating wild new patterns from old materials to using clay for unusual clothing.

The Exhibition runs for 3 days and is open 10am – 2pm daily. Demonstrations held every day.

A cafe will be open with delicious homemade cakes and slices to enjoy with tea or coffee.

Entry to the exhibition is free.
