Crochet and Knitting Classes

The knitting and crochet craze is still happening. The ladies from Caloundra Arts Centre are teaching both knitting and crochet to all ages and all stages of learning. The classes are not structured and you can begin and join in at any time.
Crochet only requires a single hook and a ball of yarn and with only 3 basic stiches it is easily picked up. We provide the hook and fragments of yarn to practice with and you will go home with a small completed article after your first lesson. You can also bring along any unfinished project or the pattern for something you would dearly love to make. Knitting on the other hand has 2 needles and only 2 basic stitches but with many variations. Knitting is cool again, so there’s no better time to learn this fabulous and relaxing hobby. Knitting can be a little slower than crochet but with numerous patterns and effects the look can be stunning. From casting on to basic techniques, you’ll receive all the information and straightforward instructions you’ll require to start knitting.
Browse through our library of pattern books to gain ideas for projects both large and small, including simple scarves, beanies and even socks!
So whether you’ve always wanted to learn how or have just recently had the desire to create and make a beautiful article of your own, this is the place to be. All your questions answered!
The classes are held every Monday night from 7pm until 9.30pm at the Caloundra Arts Centre at 5 North Street, Caloundra. Cost is only $10.00 per lesson or just $5.00 for CACA members. For more information phone Trish 0409 948604 or Anne 0459 575420. Email or just turn up on Monday night.
