The pictures below show the felting process. Here the group are making a beautiful Nuno felted scarf. This scarf has been donated to CACA to be used as 2nd prize in the raffle at the upcoming November Fair.

The Textile and Fibre Art group began when 7 members completed an online textile art course. Some demonstrations at the C.A.C.A. Fairs generated such interest that membership grew rapidly.

Through the group they offer challenges, go on field trips, explore many techniques and generally enjoy the company of like-minded artists. Through the sharing of ideas and exploration of techniques, the work created by members has become very exciting.

The group welcomes new members who have a love of any form of textile and fibre and a sense of adventure into the “What If”.

This challenge was likened to a Chinese whisper.
There were 2 separate groups beginning with a photo.
The first person in each group did their interpretation of the photo. They then passed their interpretation to the next person and returned the previous interpretation back to a leader in the group. This process continued till the final blocks were received.

The following “Fibre Fish” were all made by this interesting and evolving group of textile artists. These unique works of art were displayed at a previous C.A.C.A. Fair.
